Getting messy has never been this fun

If your favorite part of Kiln Creations is getting your hands dirty, this email is entirely for you.

We’ve got a LOT happening in clay right now—from tiny one-night projects to wheel classes where you can really settle in and learn what you’re doing. So rather than burying all of that beautiful muddy chaos in our regular email, here’s everything clay happening at Kiln Creations.

TRY IT WHEEL

Never touched a pottery wheel before? Perfect.

Try It Wheel is our no-pressure introduction to throwing. You’ll get three balls of clay, an instructor to walk you through the basics, and 90 minutes to see what happens when you attempt to convince a spinning lump of mud to become a cup.

Anything you make is bisque fired, then you’ll come back to paint and glaze it in the studio.

We offer Try It Wheel on Saturdays at 11am and 2:30pm and Sundays at 3pm.

$52 per person

COUPLES WHEEL

Date night, but with significantly more mud.

Our Couples Wheel sessions are variable times so you can plan love around your life, make some pottery, laugh at whatever weird little object appears under your hands, and generally have a much better story than “we went to dinner.”

No experience required.

FOUR-WEEK WHEEL CLASS: Sundays in October

If Try It Wheel leaves you thinking, wait, I actually want to learn how to do this, this is your next step.

Our four-week wheel class gives you time to build actual throwing skills instead of trying to cram everything into one night. Your registration includes clay, instruction, firing, glazing your finished work AND access to Thursday Open Wheel time so you can practice, trim and throw between classes.

Most students finish with around 6–8 pieces—and a dramatically different understanding of why potters are always covered in clay.

EVEN BETTER: the next class is held live on our twitch stream, and for being Twitch Guinea pigs, you'll save $30- $195 for all four weeks

TUESDAY CLAY CLUB

Wheel throwing isn't the only way to play in clay.

Tuesday Clay Club is our hand-building series for anyone who wants to sculpt, squish, texture and build something completely from scratch. Each week has a different project, and you don't need any clay experience to join us.

Coming up:

September 29 — Shrunken Head Shot Glasses October 6 — Haunted Fairy Door

Each class includes your clay, instruction, bisque firing, glaze firing and painting your finished piece.

$45 per class

MUSHROOM BOWLS — OCTOBER 18

Yes. You can make a mushroom bowl.

We’ll hand-build these ridiculously charming little pieces from clay, then fire them so you can return to paint and glaze your creation.

Choose a small bowl for $36 or go bigger with a serving bowl for $42.

Because apparently your dinnerware can—and should—look like it came from the forest floor.

LITTLE ARTISTS' CLAY PLAY

The grown-ups don't get all the mud.

Our youngest artists get four 45-minute clay classes each month where they can pinch, coil, sculpt, build and generally discover just how many things can be made from one little lump of clay.

It's process-focused, wonderfully messy and one of our favorite ways to introduce kids to ceramics.

And there is always more clay coming.

We’re constantly dreaming up new hand-building projects, wheel classes and strange little things we absolutely did not need to make out of mud—but now desperately need to make out of mud.

Check the calendar, grab your spot, and come get your hands dirty with us.
